God is holy. That means that He is separate and distinct. He is perfect in every way. Because He is holy and perfect He cannot live with any corruption.

On the other hand, we are human. We are not perfect. In fact, we are corrupt. And we know this about ourselves. This is called sin. We have all told lies, had fits of rage, jealousy and other things. Since God is holy and can have nothing to do with corruption and we are fully corrupt, this means we are cut off from God because of our corruption. We are cut off from God now and, even worse, we will be cut off from God when we die. This means we will spend an eternity in a very real place called hell. This is just and true.

And there is nothing we can do to make up for our sin and corruption. No amount of good deeds or religiosity can ever make up for our corruption and sin against the holiness and perfection of God.

BUT God is intensely in love with you. He doesn’t want you to experience the ultimate consequences for your corruption. So, He did something for you that you couldn’t do for yourself. In His love, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins on a cross. And Jesus paid for your sins in full by being raised from the dead on the third day.

And now, anyone who will turn from themselves and receive Jesus will have their sins forgiven, be reconciled to God and be given the gift of eternal life. To receive Jesus means that you place all of your trust, faith and life onto Him. It means that you are going to let Jesus be the boss, ruler and Lord of your life.

You can receive Jesus right now. Just talk to God about your desire to trust Him completely.

If you want to receive Jesus, one great way to express your desire is to go to Him in prayer. You could pray a prayer like this:

Dear God, I agree with You that You are perfect and I am not. I confess my sin to you right now. I am asking You to forgive me of my sins and come into my life. I am saying that I believe in You. Jesus, I believe in You. Jesus, I believe You are God. Jesus, I believe You died for my sins on a cross. Jesus, I believe You rose from the dead on the third day. Dear Jesus, I am turning from myself and turning to You right now in this moment. I want you to come into my life. I am trusting You to be my Savior, Lord and the boss of my life right now. Thank you for coming into my heart. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins. Thank You for saving my soul both now and forever. Help me to live for you the rest of my days.
